EmpowerMen and University of Manitoba Research Survey

The EmpowerMen Project has recently collaborated with Dr. David Delay of the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Social Work on a study that aims to explore the attitudes, behaviours, and personal beliefs of men in Manitoba to better understand the demand side of the sex trade and sexual exploitation.

982 of the participants who completed the survey identified as men — the target population of the study. The findings shared in our interim report are based on data from these 982 male participants. Some of the most striking findings of the survey are presented visually via the infographics, below. You can also scroll to the bottom of the page to read the full interim report.

The EmpowerMen Project engages men and boys to prevent the sexual exploitation and trafficking of women, girls and gender-diverse individuals. We believe that men play an important role in opposing the culture of exploitation and increasing the safety, respect, and wellbeing of everyone.
